(Dimitri's POV)
"ALPHA." Dean and Mark yell out as they barge into my office. Do they not remember the use of knocking? What if I was on the phone with someone important? These two are going to be the death of me.
"Why are you two idiots yelling? Also, what have I told you guys about barging in? I could be in an important meeting or on a call." I told them in annoyance. Dean rolls his eyes as he comes and sits on the seat in front of me, kicking his feet up on my desk. I rolled my eyes in annoyance. Mark comes and takes a seat next him, as he knocks Dean's feet off my desk on the way.
"What the hell is your problem man?" Dean asks in anger as he huffs from the disturbance of his position.
"I have no idea what you are talking about?" Mark says, feigning innocence. Though one thing Mark sucks at is lying. He also hates confrontations.
"You know exactly what I am talking about," Dean says in anger as he gets up, getting ready to fight him. That is the way Dean solves things. Fighting or humor, though he seems to completely pass the humor stage.
"ENOUGH BICKERING YOU TWO." I yelled at them in my Alpha voice. This needs to end so I can inform them about what is happening.
"Sorry Alpha." They both answer as they look down, they know they have disappointed me with their bickering again.
"Alright, if you two are done now, let's get back to business. The council is sending two of their best fighters to evaluate the nature of the problem. If they feel we will need more help, then those two will contact the council and let them know." I tell them slowly so I can understand how they feel about the situation we are in. It seems as though Dean is skeptical of the help and that only two people would be able to make a difference, though the council assured me they would be able to do what is needed. Mark seemed to be happy with the council's decision to help us and a little excited to meet these two.
"Are they witches or stronger?" Dean asks sarcastically. He doesn't like the idea of these two thinking they are better than everyone else here or that the council thinks it's okay to only send two people to help us. We are the royal pack after all. When ever any other pack is in need or the council needs us, we jump to help. Why aren't they?
"No, they are both werewolves, just like us. Probably not as strong though, knowing we are the royal pack. I do wonder if they know they are coming to the royal pack though. The council said it is their most trusted man, so I would assume they let them in on all the details." I explained, letting my thoughts run wild. Why did I say that to them?
'Maybe it is because you can't focus.' Demon says to me in annoyance.
I know it has been a few days since we saw our mate Demon, but we need to stay focused. So it would be nice if you stopped placing distracting thoughts and images in my mind. I told you after we deal with the rogues we can go try to find our mate. I think back to my wolf, hoping he would listen for once.
'No, I don't care about the rogues. I care about my mate. I haven't seen her or smelt her in six days. SIX DAYS DIMITRI. I want my mate. Listen and go get my mate or I will fight you for control and get her myself.' Demon demanded, with no hint of humor in his words.
I scoff in annoyance. I get it Demon, I will look up where we can find her after we settle the two council members in. He hides in the back of my head, satisfied for now with my answer. I am not sure how much longer he can go without his mate.
"When do they arrive, Alpha?" Dean asks with concern. This is the exact reason I needed to talk to them.
"Tomorrow. Yes, I know what that means. I need you to make sure the patrol knows and allows them to go by. I need the patrol doubled so that they do not get attacked while traveling here. I also want training doubled. Mark, I need you to tell the housekeeping omegas to make sure two Alpha guest rooms are clean, stocked with snacks and prepared perfectly. I want the kitchen omegas to make sure there is a feast for dinner tomorrow and that the menu is made out for a full two weeks. I want you to review the choices and make sure they are appropriate for special guests. If they call the council for back up, we will discuss new plans at that time. Then, when you both are through with making the changes, meet me in the cellars so we can question the rogue we were able to capture. Any information we can collect the better." I let them know, dismissing them with my hand as I finished.
"Yes Alpha." They both say as they walk out the door to do what I have asked of them. I can't get that wolf out of my mind. Those glowing violet eyes, so unique and different. A one of a kind mate. The purest of white fur, as if a fresh layer of snow was lying on top of her. Then her hieght. Eight feet tall, only two feet smaller than my wolf and she was two feet taller than my beta and gamma. Though she didn't smell like an alpha. Alphas are usually only seven feet tall too. How was her perfect wolf so tall, how was her wolf a pure color and how were her eyes violet? I know I shouldn't be complaining because that Angel is the savior of my life and the only thing in this world to control my wolf. My one and only mate. Royals only get one mate, you can't reject them or it will kill us. We can't ignore them or we will go insane. If we get rejected, that wolf and ourselves will die. There is a fine line with royal mates.
I need to get that amazing wolf that is my mate out of my head. I can't focus with thoughts of her constantly swimming around inside of my mind. I jump out of my seat, knocking it over in the process, as I head out of my office and to our training room. Maybe working out or sparring will get my mind clear and focused. I need to be in the right mind set when I question the rogue, when I welcome members of the council and while I protect this pack. I can't have my mate blocking all of my thoughts and concentration. Ugh, what the heck is wrong with me?
I walked over to the punching bag, completely lost in my thoughts.
Jab. Jab. Violet eyes. Jab. Jab.
Cross punch. Jab. Don't think about her. Jab. Cross punch.
Side kick. Jab. Pure white fur. Side kick. Jab.
Cross punch. Leap. Kick. Jab. STOP THINKING. Leap. Kick. Cross punch. Jab.
I felt a tap on my shoulder, causing me to be shaken out of my thoughts. How did I let my guard down like that? I spin on my heel, swinging a kick straight at the person's head. My foot makes contact and I notice too late who it is.
My Beta. Dean.
"Shit man, what was that for?" Dean says as he gets off the ground with blood gushing from his nose. He will be fine. We heal super fast.
"Sorry about that. I got distracted, so when you touched me I just reacted." I said to him, sincerely. Hoping he accepts my apology.
"It's fine, man. Next time pay attention though. You are a royal Alpha and your hits kill unless I prepare for them." Dean says as he claps his hand on my shoulder. "The rogue is ready to be questioned, plus it is almost midnight. How long have you been here training or more like beating up the bag?"
Midnight? How did I stay here that long and not know it? I need to question the rogue and then head off to bed before those council members arrive. I do not need to lose focus around them. Get it together, Dimitri.
"I wasn't here long." I lied to my beta, no one needs to know I was distracted or that I found my mate. " Let's go question the rogue."
We headed down to the cellars. As I watched Dean and Mark ask question after question, I realized we wouldn't be getting anything out of this rogue. If the torture doesn't convince him to talk, I don't know what will.
'Stop, there is no point in continuing. He is beaten to almost death, he is literally burned, from the inside and out, by the silver and wolfsbane. Anyone who is willing to talk would have by now. Let's call it a night.' I mind link my beta and gamma.
'Should we kill him then?' Dean asks. I trace a little excitement coming from him. He enjoys ridding the world of rogues.
'No, the council members may have different techniques to get him talking. Without information from him, it is better to keep him alive until they arrive.' I replied as I began leaving the cell.
"Good night Alpha." Mark says as he gets out of the elevator on the sixth floor, my gamma floor. That is where my gamma and his family live. Mark found his mate, Ariel, two months after he turned sixteen. A lucky bastard. Now they are expecting a little wolf, though Ariel wants the gender to be a surprise.
"Are you sure your alright, Di?" Dean asks with a look on his face as if he already knows the answer.
"We will talk about it later. Right now I just want to sleep." I tell him, even though I don't think I will be able to sleep with her on my mind.
"Fine Di, whatever you say. Night man." He says as he gets off the elevator on the seventh floor, my beta floor. Dean acts like a playboy and covers everything with humor because he has waited for his mate for so long, we both have. It hurts him to think she may be dead or mated to someone else at this point.
I got off the eighth and final floor with a sigh. I entered my room, kicking off all my clothes. I jumped into my bed and lay there as thoughts of my mate ran through my head. Why did my mate run? Does she already have a chosen mate? Does she not want me? Does her wolf recognize our bond? Is she afraid of my reputation? Why can't I stop thinking for one minute? I just want some sleep. Is that too much to ask for?
"Hi Alpha Dimitri." I heard a sickly sweet voice say as I felt hands run up my chest. Instead of turning me on though, it repulses me. I have never touched a she wolf, as I have been waiting for my mate, even if I thought she was dead. I must have fallen asleep. Crap, what time is it?
I jumped out of bed and as far away from the woman in my bed.
"Baby?" She whines as I look at her with disgust. How many times do I have to tell the same she wolf that I am not interested in her or anyone else unless they are my mate? How did she even get into my room?
"Katrina, this is the last time I will tell you so listen clearly. I will not engage with any she wolf that is not my mate. I don't know how you got to the Alpha floor or how you got into my room, but do not ever come here again or I will ban you from my pack. Do I make myself clear?" I told her with gritted teeth, trying so hard not to lash out and kill her right now. She nods her head, while running out of my room completely naked. Great.
'Alpha, the two council members are here. I am bringing them to your office now.' Dean mind links me. Shit. I throw on some clothes and rush to the fifth floor where my office is located. I enter the office, straighten up my desk, straighten my clothes and sit on my seat. As soon as I take a breath, in walks Dean, Mark, a man and a woman.
My breath hitches in my throat as I look at the stunning woman in front of me.
'Mate. She's here. She came to us.' Demon says in excitement as he bounces around in my head from the pineapple, cherry and mint smell that invades our nose.
Our mate.
